Company Info: San Francisco Seals Swim Team is a year-round competitive and pre-competitive swim team for ages 6-18. Coach-led and parent-managed, we have three levels of training for our swimmers according to their age and skill level. We practice in an indoor pool Tuesday through Friday, with dryland practices on Monday. During our competitive season, we attend one to two swim meets a month from August to May, held on weekends. We focus on building up our swimmers to their full potential while fostering a welcoming community that supports them both in and out of the pool. We firmly believe that athletes of all backgrounds should be embraced and supported at every stage of their swimming journey.

Job Descriptions:

Swim Coach Assistant (Part-Time)

  • Responsibilities: Attending practices 3-4 days/week and 1-2 swim meets per month during competition season (August to May), writing swimming sets and practice plans, contributing to online administrative needs, and collaborating on team building throughout the year.
  • Candidate Skills & Qualities: Experience with competitive swimming, coaching a team, and/or teaching swim lessons. Comfortable collaborating with coaches, swimmers, and Board members.
  • Requirements: Background check, CPR certification (preferred), and USA Swimming Membership in good standing (can be completed online during the probationary period).
  • Pay Range: $25-$35 per hour, with opportunities for increased pay after a 3-6 month probationary period and proof of being a coach in good standing with USA Swimming.

Lead Swim Coach (Part-Time)

  • Responsibilities: Overseeing specific training groups, assisting in practice planning, providing mentorship to assistant coaches, coordinating meet entries, and engaging in team administrative tasks.
  • Candidate Skills & Qualities: Prior coaching experience preferred, strong communication and organizational skills, ability to lead workouts effectively, and experience working with age-group swimmers.
  • Requirements: Background check, CPR certification (preferred), and USA Swimming Membership in good standing (can be completed online during the probationary period).
  • Pay Range: $30-$45 per hour, based on experience and responsibilities.

Head Swim Coach (Part-Time)

  • Responsibilities: Overseeing all aspects of the swim program, designing season plans, coordinating with assistant and lead coaches, attending all meets and practices, liaising with parents and board members, and handling administrative tasks related to team development.
  • Candidate Skills & Qualities: Extensive coaching experience, ability to develop and execute training programs, strong leadership and mentorship skills, and experience managing team operations.
  • Requirements: Background check, CPR certification (preferred), and USA Swimming Membership in good standing (can be completed online during the probationary period).
  • Pay Range: $40-$50 per hour, based on experience and scope of administrative responsibilities.

Location: Swim practices are held at Hamilton Recreation Center, 1900 Geary Blvd, San Francisco, CA 94115. Swim meets are typically in the North Bay, above San Francisco.
